Little Love

Little Love

To wish and hope for a Little Love to hold
to ask and plead for a Little Love to kiss
To strive to please, bargain with God, demand, give up
and then repeat
Exhausted then my striving I ceased
and finally learned what it is to cling

My supplication He met with consolation,
then joy filled me,
when I knew you’d be.
His favor had gracefully landed upon me,
and the Little Love promised
I carry within me.

Mientras Mi Madre Orába

Mientras Mi Madre Orába

Cuántas veces mi camíno torcido
de repente se enderzaba?
Milágrosamente se abrían
puertas y ventanas.
Gracia y ayúda en medio de
mi pena allaba.
Manos de bienvenida
el desconcido me daba,
Y yo se que mientras mi madre orába.

El buen consejo y la oportunidad
me buscaban.
Cuando el mal mio y del otro
me lastimaba,
recibí apoyo y amor
y asi sin sicatriz curaba.
Es obvio que por mi, mi madre orába.

En cada loca y féa circumstáncia
Dios me llamaba,
y Jesucristo de mi madre me acordaba,
ella que tanto le pedía,
y el que tanto le daba,
y no quíse qué sus oraciones
fueran por nada;
voltíe al buen camino,
patíe mis mil mañas,
frustrado el diablo se quedo con ganas,
por que mientras, mi madre orába.

False Teacher

False Teacher

you lead by division
dispensing derision
separate
instead of integrate
Skilled forked tongue spear
piercing the wounded with fear
your hate speech resonates
and so you succeed to agitate
and by race or creed or caste
you isolate
and by criticism
exhalt yourself.

Do Great Things

Do Great Things

My body’s frail
my mind is weak
the Lord will surely do,
great things with me

I’m undecided
often confounded
the Lord will surely do,
great things with me

The battle’s daunting
I fear disaster
the Lord will surely do,
great things with me

The challenge’s monstrous,
but I know my purpose
the Lord will surely do,
great things with me

I Heard My Name

I Heard My Name

I heard my name
in the multitude
where I stood
I heard the voice
I have always known.
You called my name
and I looked up in disbelief
my heart skipped a beat
for it could not really be!
Is that You Jesus, calling for me?
Relief came rushing in
I could tell by your smile
You had not forgotten your child
and all this while
You had been calling for me.

Choosing to Be

Choosing to Be

The rain and the sun fall
on the good and the bad alike
intermingled here
weeds and seeds
flowers and thorns
on this giant ball of mud

The rain comes down on all of us
causing us to grow
either mean or strong
either sarcastic or bold
We choose which
more than we think

Taking in the sun
lapping up the light
to fire us up inside
to see the things within
we try so hard to hide
or shutting tight our eyes
and turning into the dark

We choose wich
more than we think
for blessing and tragedy fall
on all the children here
on the giant muddy sphere

The Treasures I Keep

The Treasures I keep

The treasures I keep
are wrapped in a song,
They weigh nothing to me,
So I bring them along

Uphill or downhill
whatever the road
I tread on it lightly…
singing the song

The courage it gives me
sends fear
running home
And the hope in my heart
Beats in tune
like a drum

As I am humming and walking
I am learning the song,
To trust, to obey You,
To receive Your love.

Use the words to remind me
I’m on my way home,
May each step serve its’ purpose
of sharing the song,
No matter the road,
No matter the road.

Worship

Worship

You are the one who restores me
You dry my eyes
You bathe away my sin
In the torrent of forgiveness
You wash away my grief
In the rain of your love
The joy of your love has sprouted wings in my heart
And it will not be contained,
I will burst in flight and song Around your throne
Singing Holy! Holy! Holy! Is the lamb!

Promise

For every sorrow you give me joy
From every heartbreak love is reborn
Your promises are ever faithful
Your covenant unbreakable

You are the God from the beginning
You are the God who is redeeming
Your love is unfailing
Your love is the foundation of your kingdom
And your love is true

You don’t ever leave me
You never forsake me
Your love is a promise
And your promise is true

Super Jesus

Super Jesus

You are my Super Jesus
You are my Super Love
You give me what I am needing
Be it morning
Be it dusk

You are my Super Jesus
Take away my super funk
Replace it will you Jesus
Instead with Your sweet flow?

You are my Super Jesus
I no longer tremble at my foes
Because beside you my sweet Jesus
They are little ants, that’s all.

I am coming Super Jesus
To the land of Love
Can”t wait to see your face and hold your hand my Lord.
